October 16 & 17, 2002
Our keynote speaker was business futurist Dr. Stan Davis, a visionary business thinker who advises leading companies and fast-growing enterprises around the world. He has written eight books, including Lessons from the Future, the influential 2020 Vision and the best-selling Future Perfect, and is a research fellow at Ernst & Young's Center for Business Innovation and a former professor at Harvard Business School. Dr. Davis talked about economic cycles, where the information economy is in its life cycle, and how we may soon be living in a biotech economy.
Master of ceremonies Michael Hrybyk, President and CEO of BCNet, introduced a variety of other speakers who examined different aspects of the transformation process and how government can do its work more effectively and more efficiently.
The conference included the presentation of the Fifth Annual Public Sector Technology Awards at an invitation-only banquet Oct. 16, with master of ceremonies Keith Baldrey. Keynote speaker Jim Carroll talked about how we can develop an environment that supports innovation.
A trade show area allowed our sponsors to present their contributions to the transformation process. Delegates met management consulting firms, business partners, software developers and others.
